About the role
In this role you will:
Working with cross-functional teams (developers, product managers, researchers, content strategists, fellow designers) to drive design vision and strategy that meets the needs of our users. You will help other disciplines understand the value design can bring to a project and ultimately build and ship the best products.
Improving the merchant experience. You’ll work on projects from start to finish, while participating in various UX initiatives including design sprints to define and explore merchant problems, content mapping, sketching, wireframing, low and high fidelity prototyping, and leading stakeholder reviews.
Applying strategic thinking to visualize ideas and concepts and communicate them effectively and compellingly for internal stakeholders, partners, users and the executive team.
Being an active mentor and coach for the product design craft at Shopify, and helping to lead critiques, design reviews, and quarterly planning.
Partnering with our Polaris design system in an effort to innovate a coherent look and feel across the entire Shopify platform.
Expert knowledge of the end to end iterative product design process, including developing and using personas, job stories, journey mapping, content modelling, wireframing and prototyping, user testing, and high fidelity visuals.
Deep experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes while working with cross-functional teams including development, product management, and user research.
A deep empathy for the user.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills; you have the ability to help your stakeholders understand the “why” behind your design rationale.
