About the role
The Global Marketing UX team is a multidisciplinary team of creative/content designers, front-end developers, and experiential producers. We create visuals, words, & experiences to share & amplify the Shopify mission globally, primarily focusing on enterprise audience products & One Shopify programs (i.e. Unite, Commerce+, Future of Commerce). We develop visual IDs & creative systems that enable global & regional teams to tell cohesive product stories across events, campaigns, & owned properties.
As a Sr. Content Designer, you’re comfortable working in a cross-functional and fast-paced environment. You thrive in change and can navigate ambiguity, in order to move our team vision and company mission forward. You believe that content design is as much about behavior and emotion, as it is about acquisition and engagement. You can take complex ideas and translate them into effective and cohesive creative messaging leveraged across multiple mediums and channels. And you are a lifelong learner, understanding the value of user feedback and performance metrics, to help improve your craft.
Own, develop, and continually improve the user experiences of Shopify marketing properties and campaigns through your craft.
Champion, evolve, and build upon Shopify’s brand foundations and content design standards.
Work and collaborate with cross-functional Marketing UX team members (design, development, production, experiential) and with Marketing, Product, and Ops teams.
Leverage your craft expertise to drive, support, and clearly communicate your project strategy and approach. Coach and help grow the expertise of other writers on the team.
Develop killer creative concepts and ad copy that grabs attention, drives traffic and builds Shopify brand awareness, adoption and affinity.
Be creative and GSD.
Portfolio that demonstrates strong brand instincts, versatility, and point of view
Proficient with collaborative content prototyping and/or writing tools, such as Google Suite products (Docs, Slides) and Figma
Expert knowledge and understanding of digital ad best practices, campaign concept development, UX/UI design standards and patterns, and/or experiential approaches
Content design/copywriting background and experience in creative agency/marketing creative, startup, and/or eCommerce industries (bonus points: B2B marketing experience)
Ability to think in scale and impact, from short-term to long-term and from high-level strategy choices to day-to-day execution
High levels of user empathy, social acumen, and self-accountability
Internet- and tech-savvy
