On the Shopify Email team, you will help merchants grow their business and connect with their customers in a meaningful way.  

We’re looking for a user experience leader who is able to define goals, direction and strategy, but also comfortable getting into the weeds and working hands on with their teams. You’ll be working on things like:

  • Helping the team define a strong roadmap by advocating for the needs of our users and identifying the right problems to solve
  • Empowering your team to create great products by setting a high quality bar and providing constant feedback to your team members
  • Making informed decisions in collaboration with Product and Engineering managers
  • Growing your team members by offering mentorship, establishing clear expectations and connecting them to the right learning opportunities
  • Helping to build out the UX discipline in the Shopify Email team, connecting the team to the rich UX community within Shopify
  • Helping the team define a strong roadmap by advocating for the needs of our users and identifying the right problems to solve
  • Empowering your team to create great products by setting a high quality bar and providing constant feedback to your team members
  • Growing your team members by offering mentorship, establishing clear expectations and connecting them to the right learning opportunities
  • Helping to build out the UX discipline in the Shopify Email team, connecting the team to the rich UX community within Shopify

You should have:

  • A passion for unpacking and solving complex information problems
  • Experience leading a team in a multidisciplinary UX environment-ours includes UX Research, Product Design, and Content Design
  • Deep experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes across design, content strategy, and research while working with cross-functional teams including development, and product management
  • A deep empathy for the user and a desire to learn as much as possible about how they build and manage applications at Shopify
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills; you have the ability to help your team and stakeholders understand the “why” behind your design rationale

Tools of our trade:

  • We work with industry-standard tools and software like Figma, Github, and good ol’ pen and paper to define work at the right fidelity level for the project.
