Today Facebook introduced new ways to create, share, and discover live video on Facebook.
A new video tab was introduced on Facebook's mobile app, replacing Messenger's spot in the navigation bar making it seem like Facebook is taking a much more agressive approach to video discovery.
The update to Live puts Facebook in clear competition with Periscope, which is owned by Twitter.
One interesting update added to Live, is the ability to draw on video – making it look and feel much more like Snapchat.

The introduction of live video is attractive to more than public personalities (which is what the feature was limited to until now) because there's much more engagement in a real-time environment. The immediacy of Live from Facebook could be as successful as Snapchat's "Live" stories and "geofilters".
The new features will be available to users in the next few weeks, and Facebook says there's more on the way.
