Ecommerce Search Company Twiggle Raises $12.5M to Make Product Search and Discovery Easier

Search results on large ecommerce websites often spit up a dizzy of results – which can be helpful for people simply looking to browse, but if you want something in particular, it can be a bit frustrating.

However, Twiggle has a solution for that.

Twiggle's website describes their mission statement as "With so much to choose from, finding the right product is time consuming and difficult. We believe shoppers deserve better. We are making product Search and Discovery easier, more powerful, and more flexible than ever before." 

The idea is that Twiggle should be able to serve accurate search results based on conversational language – so rather than searching for "gary vaynerchuk", you could search something like "wine library tv owner and social media expert book who is jets fan" to achieve the same results.

Naspers believes in Twiggle's mission, and has shown that by leading the Tel Aviv-based startup’s $12.5 million Series A.

The funding will go into building out the engineering team, deep learning, machine learning, and natural language processing.
