[MUSIC PLAYING] Google is where the world goes to find answers, whether it's information, directions or products, there are over 40,000 searches every second on Google. The difference with Google from other ways of marketing online is that when a customer is searching, they have buyer's intent. Google designs its advertising around what people are searching for.
So that it serves the right ad to the right person. Facebook still has a lot to offer, an advertiser regularly there too. Though those ads are different because they interrupt, they literally interrupt your news feed to show an advertisement that has to catch your attention. Also Google doesn't simply keep showing your ad, until you the advertiser are out of money.
Google only charges you for the ads, when somebody clicks on your ad. This brings me to the number one thing, I want you to remember about Google. It is a platform that relies on relevance. Google Ads, which used to be called AdWords, uses a pay per click model that incentivizes the search algorithm to make sure customers are getting the most relevant results to their query.
Winning at Google, it's pretty old fashioned. You need to get the most relevant ad in front of the right person, at the right time. And that's where this course comes in. I'm going to help you develop your Google ad strategy with three essential e-commerce ads-- search ads, display ads and shopping ads. All of these have contributed to my business's success and I'll explain exactly what they are and how they work in each module.
I want to make two things crystal clear here first. This course is best suited for business owners just getting started with Google advertising. I won't be teaching every detail of the Google Ads platform just enough to make sure you have a good foothold in getting started. You'll learn what I wish I knew when I was starting out. And second-- when I walk through a Google campaign on Google Ads manager, I want you to know it can also be automated with a few clicks through Shopify, with something we've called smart shopping ads.
This feature gets your Shopify and Google accounts integrated and starts running ads for you, using the images in your Shopify store. It's great for helping you get started with Google advertising and I'll show you how to implement it later in this course. Before that, though, I'm going to show you how the Google Ads manager works. So that in the future, you can take full control of your ads from changing up the targeting to improving the ad creative.
By the end of this course, you'll have smart shopping ads setup through Shopify. You'll also be familiar with the Google Ads manager. So that in the future you can confidently navigate the platform, when creating more advanced ad campaigns. Next up-- we're going to talk about budgeting and how much you should be spending on your Google Ads. [MUSIC PLAYING]
