[MUSIC PLAYING] The next type of email automation we're going to look at that utilizes your customer's data are personalized product recommendations. These are much easier and quicker to set up than cross-sell emails. Many Shopify-integrated email apps will generate personalized recommendations for each of your customers based on their own buying and browsing histories.
We don't need to go into exactly how these recommendations are generated. The important point is that they allow us to send targeted and personalized suggestions to customers quickly and easily. You have a few options when it comes to using these recommendations. Like in the example on screen, you can send a dedicated email campaign based on personalized recommendations. Some email also let you customize these recommendations so that you only recommend products from certain categories or exclude particular products from being suggested at all.
Instead of dedicating an entire email to these recommendations, you can also insert personalized recommendations into the templates of your other email automations that you're already sending. Abandon cart emails are a popular place to do this with the "You might also like" section at the bottom. Other places you could potentially add these recommendations include your order confirmation template, thank you and review request emails, and even in your regular email newsletters.
It's up to you how and where you use them. If the email that you're using supports this feature, then think about where you can include these recommendations in your existing emails and whether you want to set up a dedicated product recommendation campaign. In the next module, we'll take a look at how you can keep your customers engaged and win back those who are going cold. [MUSIC PLAYING]
