Just direct message and influencer and off you go right. I wish it was that easy. But after working with and messaging thousands of influencers how you craft your message to an influencer not too long but not too sure is very important. You don’t want your dams or direct messages getting lost in their inbox and even worse giving you a bad first impression.
Remember this is your first date. What impression do you want them to have when reading your message. Let’s take a look at a couple of examples. We’ll start with the bad first that says, hey, this is blank owner of blank where the world’s first non oil vegan pear free fragrance free and animal cruelty free eyelash growth booster.
Think of this as a healthy lattes at almost half the price we like to send you a bottle of blank for free in exchange posted on IgG stories slash wall at least twice a week. You will love it. Can wear with flash extensions too. So a couple of things too much upfront on who they are the influencer doesn’t care about your brand yet. Period they use the phrase in exchange.
Big no no. So right up front. There’s a catch to this brand giving you this product. And again asking you out. But you have to buy dinner. So by the way. Oh and that’s twice a week. So influencers get hounded all day long by brands offering this don’t be the person I see in the post twice a week. And by the way there’s no more wall anymore.
So that’s not a thing. Also at the end, this person leaves no CTA or call to action of another way to get in contact. So let’s look at a good example this message says, hey, we’re ash and we’re from Sydney where the founders behind we love your whip feed and we actually
have a few illustrations inspired by ashes with pet daily in our shop. We want to give you one of our digital download prints for free. Check it out at our shop at link and pick up any print. Email us at blank with your choice and we’ll send it to you via email. So a couple of things they did while complimentary. We love your feed We have selections
based off your feed offer and then they offered for free. So they empowered their choice with the link. And then finally they leave a call to action with their email. The only suggestion I would give is anytime you’re asking him to leave a message. Or the platform you’re in danger of them forgetting. So if they left the platform they might not come back
to your message, but they did provide the link so that’s helpful. I would still have asked for their address just in case they forget, back forget to get back to you. You can still send them something out of their address so key takeaways. Overall you want to provide three things quick and sure all be complimentary but get to the point quickly. Then in one sense explain why you’re reaching out to them.
And then the last thing most importantly is use the phrase no strings attached. Reassure them you aren’t asking for anything in return. Again influencers get hounded all day long do not be that person then ask them to post twice a week. Use the phrase no strings attached.
