We are 9Months, the first of its kind non-alcoholic sparkling bubbly dedicated for mothers-to-be.

When I was pregnant, the first time, I always felt so left out at parties, dinners, weddings and such because I wanted to toast with the rest of the party, but, no one thought about what the preggo could drink. So I was typically left with a boring grape juice or the usual ugly bottle of sparkling cider.

It was from there that I decided that us preggos needed something of our own to cheers with. Then, 9Months was born. We sourced our bubbly from doing a lot of research in Australia (their grapes are the best) and finding the best winery that made the best non-alcoholic sparkling juice, in our opinion. We wanted something that was natural, had no added sugar, had no artificial flavors or colors and tasted really YUMMY! I think we nailed it.

How did you earn your first sales? Which channels are now generating the most traffic and sales for you?

I have to say that we were lucky in our first sales. I put a little message on my Facebook and from there it caught on like wildfire. We had so much support, shares and word of mouth marketing happening that we had a great start without having to pay for help. From there, its been all social media connections and being very proactive in writing baby industry reporters, bloggers, magazine executives, etc. offering samples of my product that they then would have to decide to write about or feature us on their blog or magazine.

Tell us about the back-end of your business. What tools and apps do you use to run your store? How do you handle shipping and fulfillment?

The backend of our store is just our online store at the moment. I use some apps, such as Exit App and Shippo, but, for the most part, Shopify as a whole is exactly what I want and need.

I keep saying "we", but, really it's just me, and well, my dog Macaroni. I do all the packing, shipping, fulfillment, inventory and everything else. Right now I'm not ready to hand off my business to anyone else to help. I need it to be done right, have that personal connection with my customers and save my pennies to expand and get bigger.

What are your top recommendations for new ecommerce entrepreneurs?

My top recommendations for new store owners is to just go for it and to try everything to get your company out there. But, to be smart about it in regards to spending money. We are lucky to live in a world right now that social media can really help you with your business. Use it!

I'd also tell them to be patient with their store opening. Make sure you have everything in order and set up before launching. You don't want to still be deciding on a logo after you've opened. Make everything right... then LAUNCH!
