Lesson 4: Introduction to Marketing Your Content
This is the fun part. This is where you really get seen. Now, it should be noted that you don't need advertising. You can do this whole process without advertising and it is proven that it will be effective, but if you want to speed up the results that you see from this process then advertising is a very good way to do it and specifically Facebook advertising. That's the channel that we're going to be leveraging to generate visibility for the content we've created, and sometimes I cannot sleep at night thinking and that's a true story.
Sometimes I'm up at night tripping out on how crazy it is that we have this thing called Facebook. We're the first generation of people who have instant access to the rest of the world. Nobody else, no generation of people before us has ever had that kind of immediate communication with other communities of people, and so we can leverage this platform to get our content out in front of those groups of people through Facebook Ads.
The point here is that there's almost no community that's not on Facebook. One-sixth of the world, a billion people, are on Facebook and through their advertising platform you can target different groups of people. We can get our content out in front of relevant groups of people who will engage with it and ultimately come back and visit our sites and buy our products. So we can use this platform to add value to people's lives, to bring joy to people and also sell our products. That's what this module is geared towards.
So, you're going to learn about Facebook advertising and the different types of ads that you have available to you as an advertiser and also some cool conversation things that will help you get the most out of the money you're spending. If you're going to spend money on advertising, if you're going to use money to generate visibility for your products and services, you want to make sure you're doing it in the most effective way possible and there is certain things you can do to get the most out of your advertising dollars, to get cheaper clicks.
The way it will work is, you will pay money every time someone engages with your content, every time they watch your video, every time they go from Facebook to your website. So, given that that's the structure we're playing in, there's certain things that you can do to ensure that you're getting the most out of that. So, with all that said, let's get started.
